Ingredients:

  • For the Dough:
    • 70 ml warm water
    • 70 ml warm milk
    • 1 teaspoon dry yeast
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 2 tablespoons melted butter
    • 320g flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Garlic Butter:
    • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • Fresh parsley, chopped
    • 60g butter, melted
    • Pinch of salt
    • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Additional Ingredients:
    • Mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1 teaspoon milk
    • Poppy seeds (optional)

 

Directions:

  1. Activate Yeast: Mix warm water, milk, dry yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Wait 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare Dough: Combine yeast mixture, egg, and melted butter in a large bowl. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing to form a dough.
  3. Knead Dough: Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Prepare Garlic Butter: Mix minced garlic, parsley, melted butter, salt, and honey.
  5. Assemble Rolls: Divide risen dough, add mozzarella to each piece, seal, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise again, 30-45 minutes.
  6. Preheat Oven: 375°F (190°C).
  7. Brush with Egg Wash: Mix egg yolk and milk, brush on rolls.
