Preparation
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the warm water to the flour mixture, stirring continuously until a soft dough forms. If the dough feels sticky, sprinkle a little more flour.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Add Flavor: Mix the chopped spring onions and grated cheese into the dough, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Divide the Dough: After the dough has rested, divide it into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
- Shape the Flatbreads: On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin circle, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cook the Flatbread: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and brush it with a little vegetable oil.
- Place one flatbread in the skillet, and cook for about 1-2 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown and bubbles form on top. Brush the top with some melted butter, then flip the flatbread.
- While the second side is cooking, brush the cooked surface with more melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes, then remove from the skillet. Repeat with the remaining dough.
- Serve: Serve the flatbreads warm as they are, or with dips such as hummus or a yogurt sauce.
