- Melt 2 ounces (70 grams) of butter.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 4.5 ounces (120 grams) of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Add 1 tablespoon of the melted butter to the flour mixture.
- Gradually add 3 fluid ounces (90 milliliters) of water, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough by hand until smooth.
- Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.
- Roll each part into a ball and keep the dough covered with a cloth to prevent drying.
- Grate 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of cheese.
- Roll out each dough ball thinly on a floured surface.
- Brush the rolled-out dough with melted butter.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the dough.
- Fold the dough in half, then fold it again into a quarter.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a bit of butter.
- Place the folded dough in the skillet.
- Brush the top of the bread with melted butter and flip it over.
- Cook until the bread is golden brown on both sides, ensuring it puffs up and cooks through from the steam inside.
- Remove the bread from the skillet and let it cool slightly before serving.
