Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 4.5 ounces (120 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ounces (70 grams) butter, melted
  • 3 fluid ounces (90 milliliters) water
  • 3.5 ounces (100 grams) cheese, grated

Method

Preparation
  1. Melt 2 ounces (70 grams) of butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 4.5 ounces (120 grams) of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of the melted butter to the flour mixture.
  4. Gradually add 3 fluid ounces (90 milliliters) of water, mixing until the dough comes together.
  5. Knead the dough by hand until smooth.
  6. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.
  7. Roll each part into a ball and keep the dough covered with a cloth to prevent drying.
  8. Grate 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of cheese.
  9. Roll out each dough ball thinly on a floured surface.
  10. Brush the rolled-out dough with melted butter.
  11. Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the dough.
  12. Fold the dough in half, then fold it again into a quarter.
  13. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a bit of butter.
  14. Place the folded dough in the skillet.
  15. Brush the top of the bread with melted butter and flip it over.
  16. Cook until the bread is golden brown on both sides, ensuring it puffs up and cooks through from the steam inside.
  17. Remove the bread from the skillet and let it cool slightly before serving.
