Full Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 3 potatoes (approximately 300g)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • Chili pepper flakes
  • Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp rice flour (or wheat flour)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Approximately 150g cheese, grated

Directions:

  1. Prepare Potatoes: Peel and grate the potatoes. Squeeze out the excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel or a sieve.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, chopped parsley, eggs, chili pepper flakes, black pepper, rice or wheat flour, and salt. Mix well to form a batter.
  3. Heat Oil: Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Form Patties: Take a portion of the potato mixture, form it into a patty, and gently place it in the hot oil. Flatten it slightly with a spatula. Repeat with the remaining mixture, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  5. Cook: Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Add Cheese: Just before the patties are fully cooked, sprinkle some grated cheese on top of each patty and let it melt.
  7. Serve: Once the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked through, remove them from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
