Ingredients:
- 500 grams of minced meat
- Salt, to taste
- Dry garlic, to taste
- 1 egg
- Hop Suneli spice blend, to taste
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 2 onions, chopped
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp satsebelli sauce
- 1 glass of water
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tsp sugar
- A bunch of parsley, chopped
- 3-5 potatoes, peeled and sliced
Directions:
- In a bowl, mix together the minced meat, salt, dry garlic, egg, Hop Suneli spice blend, and breadcrumbs until well combined.
- In a frying pan, heat some vegetable oil and fry one chopped onion until translucent.
- Add the grated carrot and chopped bell pepper to the pan. Season with salt, tomato paste, satsebelli sauce, black pepper, and sugar. Pour in a glass of water and simmer for 7-10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
- In a baking dish, arrange a layer of sliced potatoes, then a layer of the minced meat mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of potatoes.
- Top the final layer of potatoes with the steamed vegetables.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are cooked through. Remove the foil towards the end of cooking if necessary to brown the top.
