  • 2 red onions, thinly sliced
  • 3-4 tomatoes, sliced
  • A few sprigs of basil, leaves picked
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp pepper mixture
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Olive oil, to drizzle
  • 2 tsp honey
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • A few sprigs of dill, chopped

Preparation
  1. Prepare the Salad Base: In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced red onions and tomatoes. Gently toss them together.
  2. Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, salt, sugar, pepper mixture, vinegar, a generous drizzle of olive oil, honey, and the juice of one lemon to create a vibrant dressing.
  3. Combine and Marinate: Pour the dressing over the sliced onions and tomatoes. Make sure every slice is well-coated. Let the salad marinate for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  4. Add Herbs: Just before serving, sprinkle the freshly picked basil leaves and chopped dill over the top of the salad.
  5. Serve: Give the salad a final gentle toss and serve it as a fresh and tasty appetizer.
