How to Make Hamburger Stroganoff
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then add 6 ounces of egg noodles. Cook for 2 minutes less than the package instructions recommend.
- In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook for about 6-8 minutes until it's fully browned.
- In the same skillet, add ¼ cup of butter and melt it gently. Sprinkle in ¼ cup of flour and whisk for about 2 minutes until it's bubbly and golden.
- Gradually whisk in 1 cup of beef broth. Stir continuously for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture thickens. Slowly add in 1¼ cups of milk.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, along with pepper and salt to taste. Add the cooked beef and noodles to the skillet.
- Remove from heat and gently fold in ¼ cup of sour cream, stirring until fully combined.
