How to Make Steak & Queso Rice
  1. Prepare Ingredients: Begin by dicing the onion and bell pepper, then mince the garlic.
  2. Cook Steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the sirloin steak for 4-5 minutes per side until beautifully browned. Let it rest before slicing.
  3. Sauté Vegetables: Add the diced onion and bell pepper in the same skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Mix Rice and Spices: Stir in the cooked long-grain rice along with cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Heat for about 2 minutes.
  5. Melt Queso: Gradually mix in the queso cheese, stirring until creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Combine and Serve: Add sliced steak back to the skillet, tossing together over low heat. Serve hot, topped with fresh cilantro, sour cream, and avocado slices.
