  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Gluten-free flour can be used.
For the Apple Filling
  • 4 cups Apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp) Tart and sweet; alternatives include Fuji or Gala.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg Omitting is optional.
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Salted Caramel Sauce Use homemade or store-bought.

Method
 

Recipe Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Gradually add all-purpose flour, stirring until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  4. Press about two-thirds of the crumbly mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Toss sliced apples with ground cinnamon and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
  6. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  7. Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the apples.
  8. Crumble the remaining flour mixture over the caramel and apples.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes until topping is golden brown.
  10. Cool completely in the pan before slicing.
