For the Salmon
  • 2 fillets Salmon fresh or frozen
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil or neutral oil
For the Glaze
  • 1/2 cup Fresh orange juice preferably freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup for vegan
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 1 tablespoon Orange zest fresh
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Grated fresh ginger or 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch mixed with water
For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons Green onions sliced, optional
  • 2 slices Orange for presentation

How to Make Orange Glazed Salmon
  1. Sprinkle salt and pepper generously over both sides of the salmon fillets, then pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  3. Place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes until crispy. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes until opaque.
  4. In the same skillet, lower the heat and add the orange juice, honey, soy sauce, orange zest, garlic, and ginger. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another 2 minutes or until thickened.
  6. Return the salmon to the pan and spoon the glaze over each piece. Heat for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Plate the salmon and drizzle with extra glaze. Garnish with green onions and orange slices.
