Course: Main Course

Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour 320 g
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4/5 cup warm milk 200 ml
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 oz unsalted butter 70 g
  • Hot pepper flakes

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  2. Add the sunflower oil, lemon juice, and warm milk to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
  5. After resting, divide the dough into small portions and roll them into balls.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a flat disc about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each naan for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and puffy.
  8. In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and stir in the chopped parsley and hot pepper flakes.
  9. Brush the hot naans with the butter mixture right before serving.
