Preparation
- Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the yeast with the warm milk and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until frothy.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg with the sweetened condensed milk until well combined.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the yeast mixture to the egg mixture and stir well.
- Form the Dough: Gradually add the bread flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Add the unsalted butter and continue kneading until the butter is fully incorporated and the dough is smooth and shiny.
- Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Shape and Second Rise: Punch down the dough and divide it into equal parts.
- Shape each part into a ball and place them in a greased 20x20cm (8’’x8’’) mold.
- Cover the mold with a damp cloth and let it rise again for about 30 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F).
- Brush with Egg Wash: Brush the top of the dough with egg wash.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
