- Prepare the Juice: If using sour orange juice, ensure it is freshly squeezed or well-mixed. If using regular orange juice, add a small amount of citric acid to mimic the tanginess of sour orange juice. Measure out 200 ml of the juice.
- Mix the Agar Agar Powder: In a medium saucepan, combine the agar agar powder with 200 ml of orange juice. Stir well to dissolve the powder completely into the juice.
- Heat the Mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly. Once it reaches a boil, continue to cook for 2-3 minutes to ensure the agar agar is fully activated and the mixture has thickened.
- Add Sugar: Reduce the heat to low and stir in 200 grams of sugar. Continue stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- Add Color (Optional): If you wish to enhance the color of your jelly, add a few drops of yellow food coloring to the mixture. Stir well to distribute the color evenly.
- Pour into Molds: Pour the hot mixture into silicone molds or a lightly greased baking dish. If using a baking dish, you can cut the jelly into squares or desired shapes once it has set.
- Cool and Set: Allow the jelly to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully set. The jelly should be firm and easily come out of the molds.
- Optional - Dust with Powdered Sugar: For an extra touch, you can dust the finished jelly candies with powdered sugar before serving. This will add a light sweetness and a decorative touch.
