  • 4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 cup bok choy, chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes optional
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  2. Add the vegetable or chicken broth and bring it to a gentle boil.
  3. Stir in soy sauce and chili flakes (if using).
  4. Add the carrots, mushrooms, and bok choy, simmering for 5 minutes.
  5. Gently place the frozen dumplings into the broth. Cook according to the dumpling package instructions (typically 8-10 minutes).
  6. Once the dumplings are tender and cooked through, garnish the soup with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately for a warm, comforting meal.
