  • 3 large Eggs no direct substitutions
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar can substitute with brown sugar
  • 1 cup Buttermilk or milk mixed with vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract can use almond extract
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour can use gluten-free flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt essential for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Optional Spices (Cinnamon, Nutmeg) adjust according to taste
Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar or any sweetener mixed with cream
  • 2 tablespoons Milk or Cream or dairy-free alternative

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your pie crust and place it in the pie dish.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat, then let it cool slightly.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar until smooth.
  5. Gradually pour in the melted butter while whisking.
  6. Add buttermilk and vanilla extract, stirring gently to combine.
  7. Gradually add flour, salt, and any optional spices, mixing until smooth.
  8. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  9. Bake for 45-55 minutes, until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  10. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  11. Mix powdered sugar with milk or cream and drizzle over the cooled pie.
