How to Make Classic Meatloaf
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prep the ingredients by finely chopping the onion and green bell pepper, and mincing the garlic.
- Combine in a large mixing bowl the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, thyme, and oregano. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf, and place it in a loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and mustard in a small bowl. Reserve half the glaze for later.
- Brush the meatloaf with half of the glaze and bake for 1 hour. Brush with the remaining glaze halfway through cooking.
- Let rest for 10 minutes after baking before slicing and serving.
