Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 1 box Vanilla or White Cake Mix Any brand will do!
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Light or dark according to preference.
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon Feel free to substitute with pumpkin pie spice.
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk Avoid evaporated milk for best results.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Melted.
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract Opt for pure vanilla for richest flavor.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Sifting helps eliminate lumps.
  • 2 tbsp Milk Non-dairy milk works perfectly too.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract A must for that sugary perfection!

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Mixing bowls
  • whisk
  • Wooden spoon

Method

Directions
  1. Prep and Bake the Cake: Preheat your oven according to the cake mix package instructions and pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Cool Slightly: After baking, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes on a wire rack.
  3. Make the Cinnamon Filling: In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
  4. Poke Holes: Using the handle of a wooden spoon, gently poke holes evenly across the top of the cooled cake.
  5. Add Filling: Pour the sweetened condensed milk into the holes, allowing it to soak through the cake beautifully. Drizzle melted butter over the top and finish by sprinkling the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously.
  6. Prepare the Glaze: In a separate bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  7. Glaze the Cake: Drizzle the prepared glaze over the entire cake, making sure every piece gets a tasty topping.
  8. Chill and Serve: Allow the cake to rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
