Preparation
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 180°C (356°F).
- Prepare Potatoes: Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Parboil them in salted water for about 5 minutes to soften slightly. Drain and set aside.
- Cook Minced Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the minced meat and cook until browned. Stir in the diced tomato and tomato sauce. Season with salt, pepper, coriander, dried herbs, and dried garlic. Cook for another 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Assemble the Bake: Grease a baking dish with butter. Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Spread the cooked meat mixture over the potatoes. Top with the remaining potato slices. Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly on top.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped dill before serving.
