  • Author: Kimberly

Ingredients

– 12 oz spaghetti, cooked
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 small onion, diced
– 1 red bell pepper, diced
– 3 garlic cloves, minced
– 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
– 2 tbsp tomato paste
– 1 tsp dried oregano
– 1 tsp dried basil
– 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
– 1/2 cup beef broth or water
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic, cooking until softened.
2. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Stir in tomato paste, cooking for 1 minute to enhance flavor.
4. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), and beef broth. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
5. Cover and let the sauce cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning if needed.
6. Toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce until evenly coated. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
