CLASSIC LASAGNA RECIPE: THE ULTIMATE COMFORT FOOD

Ingredients

12 lasagna noodles, cooked
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground Italian sausage
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese
1 egg
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
In a skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, onion, and garlic over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese until smooth.
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of the baking dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles, followed by a third of the ricotta mixture, a third of the meat sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella and the remaining Parmesan on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is golden and bubbly.
Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
