– 2 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/2 cup milk
– 2 large eggs
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 2 garlic cloves, minced
– 1/4 cup ketchup (plus extra for glazing)
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon dried parsley
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and milk, letting it sit for 5 minutes to absorb.
3. Add the ground beef, eggs, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika to the bowl. Mix gently until combined.
4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet, or press it into the loaf pan.
5. Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top for glazing.
6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
7. Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans for a classic comfort meal.
