Savory Barbecue Chicken Pastries: A Flaky and Flavorful Delight

Ingredients

– 1 package puff pastry sheets (2 sheets, thawed)

– 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

– 1/2 cup barbecue sauce, plus extra for drizzling

– 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

– 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)


Instructions

### Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, barbecue sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped red onion. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.

3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 4 equal rectangles.

4. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of each rectangle. Fold the pastry over the filling, sealing the edges by pressing with a fork.

5. Place the filled pastries seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.

6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.

7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with additional barbecue sauce and garnish with chopped parsley, if desired. Serve warm.
