12 oz spaghetti2 tbsp olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain the rest.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and chili flakes, sautéing for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, stir in sugar, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Toss cooked spaghetti with the sauce, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
- Garnish with parsley or basil and serve hot.
