  • Author: Kimberly

Description

This classic cheesy lasagna features layers of tender noodles, savory meat sauce, and a creamy blend of cheeses, baked to golden, bubbly perfection. A hearty and comforting Italian-inspired dish that’s perfect for family dinners or gatherings!

Ingredients

– 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 cups marinara sauce
– 1 cup ricotta cheese
– 1 cup cottage cheese
– 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and garlic until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and season with salt and pepper.
3. Stir in the marinara sauce, reduce the heat, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
4. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, and 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
5. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Arrange 3 lasagna noodles on top, then layer with some of the cheese mixture, followed by meat sauce. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of noodles on top.
6. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top layer.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

### Tip:
Pair this cheesy lasagna with garlic bread and a side salad for a complete Italian-inspired meal.
### Cooking Tip:
Letting the lasagna rest after baking helps it set, making it easier to slice and serve.
