Cheesy Baked Meatballs: A Comfort Food Classic

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef or turkey
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 egg
– 2 garlic cloves, minced
– 1 tsp Italian seasoning
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 2 cups marinara sauce
– 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– Fresh basil leaves for garnish


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish lightly with cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined. Shape into 12-14 meatballs.
3. Arrange meatballs in the prepared baking dish. Pour marinara sauce evenly over the top.
4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over the meatballs.
5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
