  • 2 heads cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven or Grill:
    • If roasting, preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • If grilling, preheat your grill to medium heat.
  • Prepare the Cauliflower:
    Cut each cauliflower head into slices approximately ¾ inch thick. You should be able to get 2-3 full slices from each head. The ends may break into smaller florets; you can roast these on the same sheet pan or save them for another recipe.
  • Make the Olive Oil Mixture:
    In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well to create a flavorful seasoning.
  • Season the Cauliflower Steaks:
    Brush the olive oil mixture generously over both sides of the cauliflower steaks to ensure they are well coated.
  • Cooking Instructions:
    • Oven Method:
      • Place the cauliflower steaks on the prepared baking sheet.
      • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Flip the steaks and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until they are tender and beautifully browned.
    • Grill Method:
      • Place the seasoned cauliflower steaks directly on the preheated grill.
      • Close the lid and cook for about 5 minutes. Flip the steaks, cover, and cook for another 4-5 minutes, until they are tender and have grill marks.
  • Serve:
    Remove the cauliflower steaks from the oven or grill. Allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them as a main dish or alongside your favorite protein or grains.
