  • Author: Kimberly

Ingredients

apples, peeled and sliced (4 cups)
granulated sugar (1/4 cup)
brown sugar (1/4 cup)
all-purpose flour (2 tablespoons)
ground cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
salt (1/4 teaspoon)
old-fashioned oats (1/2 cup)
all-purpose flour (1/2 cup)
brown sugar (1/3 cup)
unsalted butter, cold and cubed (4 tablespoons)
pecans, chopped (1/2 cup)
caramel sauce (1/2 cup, for drizzling)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
2. In a bowl, toss sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, cinnamon, and salt. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
3. In another bowl, mix oats, ½ cup of flour, ⅓ cup of brown sugar, and cubed butter. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to form a crumbly mixture. Stir in chopped pecans.
4. Sprinkle the oat-pecan mixture evenly over the apples.
5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
6. Drizzle with warm caramel sauce before serving.
